Caleb Logan Dead at 13: YouTube Star and Member of the Bratayleys Remembered for His "Wonderful Spirit"

His mother confirmed the news on Instagram and cited natural causes for his passing

UPDATE: Authorities have revealed that Caleb Logan suffered an unknown medical emergency, but confirm that there was no foul play. For this reason, there will be no police investigation.

"Responding officers arrived and observed a juvenile male patient suffering from an unknown medical emergency. Fire Department personnel transported the juvenile to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased," police told E! News in a statement.
 
"At this time there are no suspicious factors and/or suspected foul play. The juvenile has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) located in Baltimore, Maryland for an official autopsy. The OCME will determine the final cause and manner of death."

Caleb Logan of the popular YouTube family the Bratayleys has died. He was 13.

The news was first confirmed on the family's Instagram page Friday afternoon.

"Yesterday at 7:08PM Caleb Logan Bratayley passed away of natural causes. This has come as a shock to all of us," the caption read. "Words cannot describe how much we will miss him. His incredibly funny, loving and wonderful spirit made us all fall in love with him as a YouTuber, friend, brother and son."

The post continued, "We know you tune in to watch each day and eagerly anticipate new videos, but ask that you bear with us while we deal with this tragedy as a family. Please help us honor our, baked potato."

Maker Studios, the Walt Disney-owned digital-media company that represents the YouTube star also confirmed the news on Friday with an Instagram statement.

"We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of Caleb from Bratayley, a beloved member of the Maker family," the company wrote. "Our love, support, thoughts, and prayers are with the Bratayley family."

The news comes as a shock to fans who have been watching the family's videos since 2010. According to Variety, their YouTube page has amassed more than one billion views on the social media site. Their most popular episode generated more than 22 million streams.

On Saturday, the family was able to post one of their daily vlogging videos which included Caleb. According to the video, it was made on Wednesday or one day before the 13-year-old passed away.

"In addition to our desire to give the Internet community the chance to begin the grieving process, we also wanted to post this video to show a healthy and happy Caleb doing what he loved," the family wrote on YouTube. "Thank you for all the love and support that everyone has shown our family. And we ask for continued love and support as we move through the grieving process."

On Sunday evening, the family was able to post another video titled "Caleb, Gone But Never Forgotten" that featured several memorable moments from the young teenager.
