Just a few hours after Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard announced the birth of their baby boy, the happy couple headed to social media to share the very first pictures of Israel David Dillard.
"He's a beautiful baby boy!" Jill shared on Instagram as the newborn slept in the hospital. "Israel David Dillard, born last night at 11:49pm! So thankful to God for this handsome little guy!"
The Duggar family also shared several new photos on their official Facebook page that featured the happy first-time parents. "We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel!" the TLC family shared. "We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!"
And by soon they mean right now!
In several candid shots, Derick is seen touching his son's hands while dressed in blue scrubs. Meanwhile, Jill appears to be all smiles as her child rests on her legs. In fact, a close friend or family member appears to be capturing the special moments on film in hopes of creating lasting memories.
TLC has confirmed to E! News that Jill and Derick's birth special will be airing May 5.
The couple's newborn, who was born almost two weeks after the scheduled due date, weighed in at 9 pounds, 10 ounces. The name was inspired by the twosome's deep faith in God.
After announcing their pregnancy news in August, the 19 Kids and Counting stars kept fans updated on their journey to parenthood. Whether celebrating baby showers with friends or chronicling that growing baby bump, viewers never missed a milestone in the couple's story.
And while baby Israel may be the couple's main focus in the months to come, there's already talk about expanding the family again.
"We're open to as many children as God will give us," Jill dished. "We believe children are a blessing from the Lord and a gift from him."
