Bring in the dancing lobsters—because Amanda Bynes has new music.

The Amanda Show alum is releasing “Girlfriend,” her first song in four years, on Apple Music and Spotify April 10.

“My inspiration was a lot of EDM,” Amanda exclusively told E! News of her single, “as well as rap.”

Indeed, the 40-year-old is mixing genres with the track, which also taps Los Angeles-based rapper Fenix Flexin. As Amanda’s label Create Music Group—which has worked with Jason Derulo, Keri Hilson and Deadmau5—put it, the song “blends melodic rap with EDM-inspired production, creating a catchy, high-replay record with a smooth West Coast bounce.”

“Built around a strong hook and confident, flirt-heavy energy,” the label continued in a statement, “it’s designed for repeat listens and wide playlist appeal.”

Amanda first teased her return to music in February, when she announced that she and Fenix were working together on something she described as “straight fire.”

The She’s the Man actress initially got into the rap game in 2021, releasing a 58-second track “Diamonds” with then-fiancé Paul Michael.

“Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds on my neck, on my wrist,” she rapped at the time. “Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds on my fist, yeah, I whip."

The duo dropped a longer version of the song, as well as another single titled “Fairfax,” in 2022.

Amanda’s latest project marks an extension of her creative endeavors following her graduation from Los Angeles’ Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019. Beyond music, she has dipped her toe into podcasting with Paul Sieminski by launching Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast in 2023.

Plus, she participated in an art show and clothing pop-up in December 2024, where she featured multiple pieces of her art. Meanwhile, she joined OnlyFans last April, but warned she “won’t be posting any sleazy content.”

Ahead of the release of Amanda’s new music, read on to look back at some of her biggest roles.

Marianne, Easy A

Snow White goes Greek in this modern day interpretation of the fairytale classic, where Amanda moves into a house with seven dorks—see what they did there?—after finding out that the sorority life isn't for her.

Sydney White, Sydney White

Amanda totally nailed the role of a holier-than-thou mean girl.

Host, The Amanda Show

The actress picked up an impressive three Favorite TV Actress wins at the Kids' Choice Awards for her role in the sketch series.

Kaylee, Big Fat Liar

Amanda made her big film debut in this film and she certainly didn't disappoint—the film brought in a whopping $48 million. Those numbers don't, ahem, lie!

Holly, What I Like About You

Aww, remember when Amanda played Jennie Garth's fresh-faced and cheeky younger sister in this television series?

Viola, She's the Man

The young star was nearly unrecognizable when she played a teen boy in this take on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. We're sure even the Bard would've appreciated her entertaining performance.

Penny Pingleton, Hairspray

The multitalented gal proved she could sing just as well as she could act in this remake of the '80s classic.

Daphne Reynolds, What a Girl Wants

While what a gal does actually want may be up for debate, we're sure we want to see more of Amanda taking on comedic roles like this one. Plus, the fact that Brit hottie Colin Firth played her dad didn't hurt either.
