Ben Mark Holzberg /The CWLet's be real—the sexual tension on Nikita has been bubbling over ever since the show premiered. Who doesn't want to see superhot people hooking up with other superhot people? This is the CW, after all. There has to be some smooching sometime!
We checked in with those hotties—Maggie Q, Shane West and Lyndsy Fonseca, to be precise—to find out when we might get to take a break from the ass-kicking action and get a little more romantic action.
When we last checked in on Nikita and Michael, they were facing off for the umpteenth time and both walking away from the incident. No matter how many times Michael holds a gun to Nikita's head, he can't seem to pull the trigger. In flashback, we saw Michael almost lay one on young Nikita, the recruit. Again, he couldn't pull the trigger.
"My theory is that we fight because we can't have sex," Maggie surmises about their relationship, when we check in with her at New York Comic Con.
"It's not hard to bring Michael and Nikita together," West explains later. "It's really hard to keep them apart...We're barely into the season yet, so why not keep teasing?"
And, because of that, we can anticipate some other characters coming in to muddy the Michael-and-Nikita-forever waters.
"We've talked about a potential flirtation with Michael and Alex. Is that going to upset people, or will they like them? It's just things to mess with your mind. Bring in the Owen character (Devon Sawa) and that's to mess with Michael's mind, because she's getting close to someone who she can get close with who's upset with Division as well."
At least we'll be learning a little bit more about Michael's bromance with his boss, Percy, and why he feels an allegiance to such a seemingly bad dude. Both West and Maggie Q have declared episode 109 their favorite thus far, and it focuses heavily on Michael's backstory and relationships.
"Michael was always in the military in some sort of sense and he had something that is truly devastating that happens to him in his personal life that makes him completely emotionless," West says. "And that's how Percy finds him and brings him into Division...The way that [the episode] ends, it changes the dynamic, at least for a while, of what's happening in the present."
As for our younger potential coupling—Alex with Ashton Holmes' Thom—things will continue to sit on shaky ground. As Thom grows increasingly suspicious of Alex's actions and motives, their chemistry becomes more and more complicated.
Fonseca admits her character has feelings for the poor guy but that she's also using him. More important, "I think Alex is maybe not quite ready [for a relationship]," she says.
Well, we imagine being a former sex slave will do that to a gal.
