Amanda Seyfried just landed her most coveted role: Motherhood!

E! News confirmed yesterday the actress is expecting her first child with fiancé Thomas Sadoski, an exciting development for someone whose had baby on the brain for what feels like almost a lifetime. Amanda, who will celebrate her 31st birthday over the weekend, first expressed her interest in becoming a mom publicly in a 2014 Q&A with Glamour. When asked where she saw herself in the next five to 10 years, she answered succinctly, "With child!"

Yes, we know what you're thinking. It's like she has ESPN or something...

Then almost a year later, Seyfried dished to Us Weekly"I think [motherhood] is an important chapter. There are some people who just know innately what they are, what they're capable of. Yeah, it seems natural."

At the time, the Mean Girls star was still dating longtime boyfriend Justin Long, and despite going their separate ways in September of last year, Amanda's family priorities have never strayed.

"Someone said to me recently, ‘There's a level of guilt that people have about procreating,'" Amanda explained to Nylon in April 2015. "I think about it all the time. Why bring another human into this world? ...It's just a terrible world."

She continued, "But then, this person like Douglas, my makeup artist, he said, ‘But if you're a good person and your partner is a good person, you're creating a good person. Isn't that better for the world than not creating anybody at all?' Definitely it's a selfish thing too. Selfishly, I think it would be a wonderful experience. For the greater good, I don't think it's taking away by adding."

Seyfried doubled down on her baby aspirations in a June 2015 interview with E! News, where she told us her focus was nowhere near a traditional wedding ceremony.

"I got married so many times in my life—onscreen!" she confessed, adding, "I don't want a white dress! I've worn so many of them. You know what I mean? The fact is, that kind of stuff is less about the ceremony and more about the commitment. So it's like children. That's where it's at, right? For me. But it's different for everybody."

"I'd like to have one in the next four or five years," Amanda added. "And the second one can happen between 35 and 40. Or I can adopt... It's fine. I definitely want to a couple kids."

The Pennsylvania native also told Vogue she dreams of leaving Hollywood and living in Stone Ridge, New York, full-time. "I want to have kids. And I want them to go to local schools, and there are some really good schools around here," she said. "I would like my life to be the same as it is now, but with a little less stress and a little less work."

And in a candid sit-down with Marie Claire, Amanda told the outlet that upon nearing 30-years-old, she felt her biological clock ticking louder than ever.

"I keep feeling like my eggs are dying off," the Les Mis star admit. "I need to get on it… I want a child. Badly. I want to be a mother, badly. That's what I feel. I've been feeling it for like, two years. I'm not ready but nobody's ready. It changes everything… so how you can ever be ready for that?"

Well, ready or not, here she goes! Congratulations again, Amanda and Thomas.
