The 50th Annual Country Music Academy Awards has already started off with a bang!

The opening performance brought the crowd to their feet with a medley of songs from some of the biggest names in the history of country music, including Randy Travis.

The renowned 57-year-old crooner suffered a stroke in 2013 and went through years of physical therapy in order to recover. However, he proved just how far he's come by ending the star-studded opening performance standing beside Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and the rest of the performers as they sang, "Forever and Ever, Amen."

The moment certainly had the crowd and viewers alike wiping tears from their eyes.

Meanwhile, the opening performance also included several other big names. Pailsey and Roy Clark sang "I've Got a Tiger by the Tail," while Reba McEntire belted out "Fancy." Alabama performed their hit "Mountain Music" and Charley Pride even joined Paisley on-stage for "Kiss an Angel Good Morning."

Underwood gave us the chills as she opened with Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" and Charlie Daniels had us clapping along with "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

Ben Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black, Ricky Skaggs and Alan Jackson also joined the incredible performance, which certainly made waves as the start to the major moment in the CMA Awards history.
