Kirsten Dunst is embracing her womanliness!
The 31-year-old actress, who appears on the cover of the May issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K., shares her thoughts on the subject of gender with the magazine.
"I feel like the feminine has been a little undervalued," Dunst says. "We all have to get our own jobs and make our own money, but staying at home, nurturing, being the mother, cooking—it's a valuable thing my mom created."
She adds, "And sometimes, you need your knight in shining armor. I'm sorry. You need a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. That's why relationships work."
Hmm, perhaps that is what has helped Dunst maintain her relationship with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.
The two were first linked romantically in the beginning of 2012 after meeting on the set of On the Road, in which Dunst played one of Hedlund's wives.
In February 2013, the actor gushed about his ladylove, revealing how he ended up wooing her in spite of a major mishap during a date involving a faulty canoe.
"It was not a stable canoe," he told Details. "We fell out and had to swim back in mucky, s--tty water, like golf-pond water."
Dunst stars opposite Viggo Mortensen in her latest movie, The Two Faces of January.
