Christina Aguilera posted a picture on Twitter today that should make her fans feel like all their Christmas dreams have come true.
"Working on something special…Happy Holidays to all!!" The Voice coach captioned next to a shot of herself recording in the studio. Christina is looking casual in a white t-shirt, but we bet the track she's putting together is anything but.
Right now the haunting ballad "Say Something," Christina's collaboration with A Great Big World, is burning up the charts. A Great Big World is made up of the duo Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino, who told us recently how a duet with one of our most iconic voices came to be.
After Christina heard the song while watching So You Think You Can Dance, Vaccarino said they "got a call and were in L.A. like a week later recording with her." And even though she's got that big voice, Christina was very insistent that her vocals not take over the song.
"She's just connecting with the song and singing so vulnerably," Axel said. "We wanted her to take a verse on it and she's like, 'No, I want to let the song be. I want to let it breath and be open.' We were just floored by the whole thing. She's a really fast learner. The process was actually really fast, just going back and forth and trying different lines. She's super pro."
What do you guys think? Is Xtina working on a remix or a whole new single? Fans have been clammoring for a remix of Lady Gaga's "Do What U Want" after their epic duet on The Voice. Fingers crossed we won't have to wait long to find out.
