Sarah Jessica Parker lives up to her status as a living fashion icon in the September 2013 issue of Harper's Bazaar—the largest issue to date—where she absolutely stuns in gorgeous designer creations from Chanel, Gucci and the glam glittering gold Marc Jacobs dress she wears on the cover.

But it may surprise many of her fans to know that the star, who continues to dazzle on the red carpet long after her days of playing the fashion-obsessed Carrie Bradshaw, is more of a get-up-and-go kind of gal when it comes to getting ready every day.

"I don't think I've ever spent 10 minutes calculating my image," she said in an interview with the magazine. "I can't even recall a conversation."

We're sure many a woman can relate to the laid-back approach of the mother of three, who is often spotted busily tending to her kids on the streets of New York.

But even in her off-duty days, Parker still manages to exude a killer sense of style—and we're guessing her covetable chicness was part of the reason she was able to casually call up Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus to set up a collaboration.

"She has a fan base in the fashion world that's extraordinary, and it's truly because she's such a nice person," Malkemus explained about partnering with Parker to launch her exclusive shoe collection for retailer Nordstrom. "Were it anyone but Sarah Jessica, I wouldn't have done it."

But this isn't Parker's first foray into fashion. In addition to her now defunct line Bitten, the 48-year-old also teamed up with Halston, admitting, "I really did work for free," of the latter project.

"We've all worked with complicated people and I always think that I can disarm them," she said of her past fashion work. "I love collaborating. I'm a great listener and learner, and I don't think I know more than they do. I'm transparent."

Let's hope her open attitude means her Manolo line, which she reveals will be decorated with touches of grosgrain, will be a little more successful than her past lines!

Parker's collection arrives at Nordstrom in February, and her Harper's Bazaar issue hits newsstands on Aug. 20.
