It's safe to assume George Lopez will not be voting for Donald Trump.

During his performance Saturday at the Phoenix Celebrity Theatre in Arizona, the Mexican-American comedian led the crowd in an expletive-filled chant slamming the presidential hopeful. Lopez himself called out Trump's name and then appeared to encourage his audience as they responded "F--k that p--o!"

Before the cheering began, Lopez voiced his opposition to Trump's controversial comments about Mexican immigrants. (When the former Celebrity Apprentice host announced his bid for presidency on June 16, he claimed Mexico was "sending people that have lots of problems" to the United States, saying, "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.")

"This country is better with Latinos in it," said Lopez, and upon hearing those words, the crowd erupted in applause.

The former Saint George star defended his anti-Trump comments on Twitter. He responded to one social media user demanding that "illegals go home cause we don't want you" with a tweet that said, "race you back to Europe!"

Lopez also tweeted: "I'm not sure how people's memories are but 'Go Back To Where You came From' Is a BOX most people can check!"

As for Trump? He's yet to publicly respond to Lopez's specific comments—he has, however, been on the defense for what he said this weekend regarding Sen. John McCain's military history. On Saturday, Trump said McCain was not a war hero, but in an interview Monday with Today's Matt Lauer, he conceded that the veteran is, indeed, a war hero.

Why the change of heart? In an opinion piece for USA Today, Trump claimed that it was the news media "distorting my words" when it came to his comments about McCain. According to Trump, his point was that "McCain the politician has failed the state of Arizona and the country." His issue, he said, is with McCain's handling of veteran services and support.

But as Trump tweeted Monday, "This story is no longer about John McCain, it's about our horribly treated vets. Illegals are treated better than our wonderful veterans."
